Master Class in Expressive Portrait Life Drawing
With Oliver Sin
August 17-18, 2024 | 11a.m. - 5p.m. (Lunch break 1-2p.m.)
This workshop will help students to make competent drawings of portraits. Whether students are beginners or have some experience, this class will further their skills. Step-by-step demonstrations by artist/author/instructor Oliver Sin will help students look closely and understand the structure of the face. Students will draw from life models and learn the techniques of mastering expressive portraiture with different dry media. All levels are welcome!
Oliver’s first art book, “Drawing the Head for Artists” was published by the Rockport publisher in 2019 and two of his portraits were commissioned and featured on the cover of the Time Magazine as part of their "100 Women of the Year" project, March 2020 issue. Streamline Publishing published my first educational step-by-step DVD, "Portrait Drawing Simplified, " in April 2022. Vine charcoal portrait drawing of his dad won First Place in Drawing at the Portrait Society of America International Art Competition in 2021. For consistent achievements of artistic excellence in the art field of fine art portraiture, he earned "Signature Status" with the Portrait Society of America in 2022.
