Module 2-4

This course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively utilize art therapy techniques in various therapeutic settings. The course will be delivered throughout 4 modules ~ with each module comprising three sessions. Each session will combine theoretical instruction, experiential learning, group discussions, and hands-on artistic activities.

The course is designed for individuals and groups interested in learning how to use art therapy to help or incorporate new effective art therapy techniques into their practice. The course welcomes participants from diverse backgrounds and does not require prior art therapy experience.

🌟 Immersed in 4 in-depth modules, all participants will engage in a personal journey including seminars, group work, case histories, and home work. There will be ample opportunity to engage in reflective art making, group discussion, small-group sharing, and Q&A. At the end of module Four, there will be a written exam for participants to qualify for the certification of completion with all the classes attended.

Module 4: Art Therapy in Addressing, Healing Various Psychological Disorders - Part 2

This Art Therapy course, incorporating detailed academic theories, will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the field and equip you with practical skills to effectively utilize art therapy techniques in therapeutic settings. The integration of psychological theories, neuroscience, and in-depth reflective artistic activities to enhance participants' ability to facilitate transformative experiences for individuals facing various psychological disorders. 

We advocate for the tried-and-tested knowledge and techniques in art therapy as essential tools for every individual. This invaluable skill set will benefit mental health workers, art teachers, etc., and also as a gateway to meaningful engagement with loved ones experiencing conflicts and distress. By providing an entry point for initiating conversations and understanding their situations with clarity, art therapy becomes a powerful means to enhance cognitive functions, nurture self-esteem, and cultivate emotional resilience and social skills.

 

Module 1: Psychology, Brain & Neuroscience, Theories and Analysis in Therapeutic Art Therapy

In this module, participants will acquire knowledge in psychology with a focus on how it intersects with art therapy. Specific academic theories, such as the Psychodynamic Theory, the Cognitive-Behavioral theory, and the Humanistic-Existential theory, will be explored to understand how they inform the practice of art therapy. Participants will also learn about the brain's involvement in creative expression and the neuroscience behind art therapy. By understanding these theories and concepts, participants will gain insights into the underlying mechanisms of art therapy and its effectiveness as a therapeutic modality. Last class of this module participants will learn to analyze and interpret artworks.

Lesson 1. Introduction to the Psychodynamic Theory,  Cognitive-Behavioral Theory & Integration in Art Therapy.

Module 2: The Significance of Art Therapy. How to Effectively Use Shapes, Colors & Symbols. Prepare & Conduct Art Therapy Sessions

This module will delve into the significance of art therapy as a therapeutic intervention. Participants will explore the role of shapes, colors, and symbols in drawing and painting and how they contribute to the therapeutic process. Specific theories, such as color psychology, shapes, and symbolism, will be examined to understand their impact on emotional expression and healing. Additionally, participants will learn how to prepare and conduct professional guidance consciously at an art therapy session to enhance self-awareness, and clarity leading to personal growth. The difference between interventions for individuals and group sessions will be discussed.

Module 3: Art therapy in Addressing, Healing Various Psychological Disorders - Part 1

In this module, participants will explore the application of art therapy techniques to address various psychological conditions and work with diverse backgrounds. The module will focus on introducing different sessions specifically designed for stress, anxiety, and relationship issues using in-depth reflective artistic activities. Evidence-based relationships art therapy will be discussed, providing participants with practical tools to tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of couples or family units. Case studies and interactive discussions will be incorporated to deepen participants' understanding of effective art therapy modalities.

Module 4: Art Therapy in Addressing, Healing Various Psychological Disorders - Part 2

The module will continue to focus on introducing different sessions specifically designed for trauma, addiction, and loss & bereavement using in-depth reflective artistic activities. Evidence-based approaches, such as trauma-informed art therapy and grief-focused art therapy, will be discussed, providing participants with practical tools to tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of each specific situation. The reasons why addiction erodes self-esteem and sense of identity will be explored, paving the way for self-exploration, insight, coping skills development, and the building of healthy self-esteem and identity. Case studies and interactive discussions will be incorporated to deepen participants' understanding of art therapy in depth.
